Since my boyfriend and I have different native languages we use it as an opportunity to broaden our vocabulary.

These are our exchanged words from last Saturday. It's alsways fun to play with typography.

sketchbooktitle

My new sketchbook was in great need of a title, so that I can distinguish between it's back and front.
The phrase is the title of a film which my professor of design history claimed to be her favorite film and she once showed us a part of it. It's from the 80's and tells the story of Michelangelo painting the Sistine Chapel and quarreling with the pope while doing that.

With some kind of afterthought and the great amount of stress the last weeks - between being amused and a bit desperate - I came to the conlusion that it sums up being an illustrator in quite a good way... at least, in a dramatic one.
