Die beiden überarbeiteten Bilder für mein Buchilustrations-Projekt.

Thurso

We said we would take the Bus. As far north as we can get. What turned out to be Thurso. When we got out of the bus there seemed to be not much except empty streets filled with sunlight. But then, behind a few corners, there suddenly was the Atlantic! Blue like nothing else can be. And in the distance lay the rough shores of the Orkney Islands.

Those unexpected, sunny afternoon-hours held some kind of light and magic athmosphere.

Sheer luck helped us to find a campingside right on the cliffs and probably the ALDI with the most amazing view from its front-window in the world.

Atzung und Alchmie

This semster I want to illustrate Der Sandmann of E.T.A. Hoffmann. An old nursemaid tells the story of the evil sandman who strews sand into childrens eyes until they spring out. He collects the bloody eyeballs and feeds his children with them.

Fakten über giftige Pilze... mal abgesehen davon, dass es Pilze mit absolut großartigen Namen gibt.

Hier noch ein par ältere Zwischenschritte: Der leuchtende Ölbaumpilz und der durchaus sehr gitfige Zigelrote Risspilz (der im Gegensatz zum schönen Amanita Muscaria - Fliegenpilz wesentlich mehr Muskarin, das zur Überreizung von Nerven und Drüsen führt, enthält) mussten leider aus Platzmangel rausfliegen. Die Anordung ganz unten ist mein letzter Kompositionsvorschlag gewesen, aber die Grafikabteilung hat doch irgendwie das letzte Wort.

I saw something like this in a dream and I thought to myself in the dream while seeing it: you have to paint that scenery!
It didn't exactly turned out like the dream but on the whole the atmosphere seems to fit.
